Dice Game Glossary

Every term used on the score sheet, explained simply, with its point value and an example.

Three of a Kind
At least three dice showing the same value (e.g. 4-4-4-2-6). This category scores the sum of all 5 dice, not just the three matching ones.
Four of a Kind
At least four dice showing the same value. Like Three of a Kind, it scores the total sum of all 5 dice once validated.
Full House
Three dice of one value plus two dice of another value (e.g. 3-3-3-6-6). Always worth 25 points, whatever the dice values.
Small Straight
Four consecutive values among the 5 dice (1-2-3-4, 2-3-4-5, or 3-4-5-6), the 5th die being free. Worth a fixed 30 points.
Large Straight
Five consecutive values across all 5 dice (1-2-3-4-5 or 2-3-4-5-6). Worth a fixed 40 points.
Five of a Kind
All 5 dice show the same value. It's the rarest combination (roughly 1 in 1,300 on the first roll) and the most rewarding: 50 points, plus a 100-point bonus for every extra Five of a Kind after the first.
Chance
A "wildcard" category that always scores the sum of all 5 dice, whatever the combination. Useful to avoid wasting a good roll on a category it doesn't fit.
Zero out
Voluntarily entering 0 in a category because the roll can't fill it usefully, or because you'd rather sacrifice it to keep a better category available. A box must be filled every turn, zeroed or not.
Upper section bonus
An extra 35 points awarded if the total of the Ones-to-Sixes categories reaches at least 63 points — an average of 3 dice per value.
Upper section
The first six categories on the score sheet: Ones, Twos, Threes, Fours, Fives, Sixes.
Lower section
The seven combination categories: Three of a Kind, Four of a Kind, Full House, Small Straight, Large Straight, Five of a Kind, and Chance.
