Dice Game Rules
This classic dice game is played with 5 dice and a 13-category score sheet, filled in over 13 turns. Here's the complete rules guide, with every category and bonus explained.
How a turn works
On their turn, a player rolls all 5 dice. They can then keep whichever dice they like and re-roll the rest, up to two more times (3 rolls total). Once satisfied — or after the 3rd roll — they record their result in any still-empty category on their score sheet. Each category can only be used once per game.
Upper section
| Category | Score | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Ones | Sum of 1s | E.g. three 1s = 3 points |
| Twos | Sum of 2s | E.g. three 2s = 6 points |
| Threes | Sum of 3s | E.g. three 3s = 9 points |
| Fours | Sum of 4s | E.g. three 4s = 12 points |
| Fives | Sum of 5s | E.g. three 5s = 15 points |
| Sixes | Sum of 6s | E.g. three 6s = 18 points |
Bonus: +35 points if this section's total reaches 63 points or more.

Frequently asked questions
How many times can you roll the dice each turn?
Three rolls maximum per turn. After the first roll, choose which dice to keep before rerolling the rest. You can stop after the 1st or 2nd roll if you're happy with the result.
What happens if nothing matches a category?
You still have to fill in a box every turn: if your dice don't match anything useful, you "zero out" by entering 0 in the category of your choice.
How does the upper section bonus work?
If the total of your six upper categories (Ones through Sixes) reaches at least 63 points, you earn a 35-point bonus. 63 is the average of three dice per category.
What happens if I roll a second Five of a Kind?
If the Five of a Kind box is already filled with 50 points and you roll another one, you earn 100 bonus points, stacking with every extra Five of a Kind.
